As a rule we are not in the business to do Trade For Print -
CD (TFPCD).
On occasion if a talented performer, model, musician,
fitness competitor, etc. is in need of photography or other
services, can not afford it, has a look that is beneficial
to our portfolio, or presents a particularly interesting project,
we may consider a TFPCD situation.
Consideration would be based on the following factors:
- The individual is motivated and professional
- There is a good indication that the person will complete
the project/session.
- The photographs from the project will be beneficial to
our portfolio or projects.
It does not hurt to ask!! If we have contacted you with a desire
to work with you, we will definitely consider a TFPCD situation.
If you think that we would be interested in a mutual portfolio
building situation, visit the following page to submit yourself
for consideration:

What is TFPCD?
Trade For Print - Compact Disk is a method to create a mutually beneficial
photo session or project that would be of benefit to the talent (model,
actor, musician) and us by inclusion in our portfolio, articles or
examples. We also would do such a session for test purposes (a different
subject, but about the same results).

What do I get from a TFPCD session?
This could be different for each subject, but as an example the
basic package would get you a CD (Compact Disk) with the final
edited images. These images would be production quality, which
means you can use them for comp cards, portfolios, publications,
etc. The amount of images on the CD would be dependant on the
session, outfits and good shots that come out of it. Around
5 to 10 images may be included, based on an average session.
There would also be "internet size" images on the
disk for uploading to online services. All images are color
corrected, rotated, cropped and enhanced to present the best
image. You would also get one (1) print (your selection) for your portfolio (a maximum of 3). This would
be in a size that would fit your individual portfolio. We also
usually put together a web page of the session on our web site.
You may link to this page from your listings or site. Additional
prints would be available to purchase at a much reduced rate
(basically to pay for cost and handling).

Do I get to see all of the photographs taken?
We do not have a problem with you viewing all of the images taken.
The only way that you learn is by seeing your (and sometimes our)
mistakes.

|
Why can't I have a copy of all of the images?
We have a problem giving out all of the images, unedited. We would
like for our work to be seen in the best circumstances available.
If you use unedited images. That is not the best portrayal of
our work. For the most part, most of the images are great looking
without editing, but there are little adjustments that need to
be made for each individual photograph to make it stand out more
readily. If you want an image, let us know and there should
not be a problem in getting it to you, edited.

Why don't you pay me for the session?
Well . . . then it would not be TFPCD!! As a rule if you're just
starting out, your portfolio is not up to par (snapshots done
by friends, etc), and we would not benefit from the session, Why
Would We Pay You? We can ask, "Why don't you pay
us for the session?" We have no problem in paying individuals
who are established professional models, know how to work,
and fit within our budgets. For the most part this is not part
of the TFPCD process. Back to Top

What are your (Photographer) pet peeves about TFPCD?
In no particular order:
- People who do not show up (or call)!!
- Someone who does not show enthusiasm at creating great images.
- Someone who will not experiment with poses or ideas.
- Someone who always digs for more "Free Stuff".
- Did I mention, People who do not show up!!

What if I have to cancel?
Sometimes stuff happens. If you have to cancel, let us know as
soon as possible. The day before the session at the latest
(unless it is an emergency). We can reschedule for a later
time. If you have a legitimate reason, then there is no problem
at all. If you do not call at all, or after the time that the
session was to begin, that is not a professional or honorable
thing to do (unless you are stuck on the freeway with no phone),
People who act professional and courteous will be given the
same in return X2. People who do not, will be forgotten. Back to Top

What can be expected during the session?
You can expect to have a good time, be relaxed and not worry about
pressure. The session should be held in an atmosphere of mutual
respect. You can also expect to work hard at getting the right
image and look. I will work you to get different expressions
and body angles. If you are not use to it, you will be sore the
next day from poses and using muscles that you have not used
in a while. Most of all it should be a pleasurable and profitable
experience. You can find more information on preparation and what
to expect in the Model
Talent Information Package (Adobe PDF)

Can I bring someone with me to the session?
Persons under 18 are REQUIRED
to bring an adult with them. Persons over 18 will need to notify us if they intend to bring someone else to the session with them. The person you bring with you should
make you feel comfortable in the situation where you will be
posing for photographs. Sometimes self consciousness will make
you feel uncomfortable with boyfriends, mothers or others. You
should be able to pose uninhibited with whoever you bring. They
should also be instructed not to interfere with the session,
photographers instructions, equipment or settings. If they become a hindrance
to the session, they may be asked to wait in a waiting area,
or the session may be terminated.

Do I have to pose nude or in skimpy lingerie to do a TFPCD?
Definitely Not!! As a matter of fact, if you are individually opposed
to this type of modeling, we recommend that you not pose for
it. Do not shoot and show what you do not intend to work in.
We will work within your comfort zone. Once you pose nude, or
in lingerie, it is done and not easy to take back (especially
if posted on the internet). Work into this area at your own comfortable
pace, or not at all.

Will I have to sign any forms or releases?
There are several forms that you will fill out:
A
Limited Release Form (to allow us to use your photograph)
A Model Information Form (with statistics about you)
A session planner (to get the most out of initial and subsequent
sessions)
These forms and other useful information can be found in the Model
Talent Information Package (Adobe PDF)
You should also receive (from us) a Copyright
Transfer Form (Adobe PDF), that
allows you to use the photographs given you for promotional reproduction
purposes.
